When you choose to visit the city, most people don’t anticipate seeing any wild life (unless you consider Central Park pigeons wild). However, the Bronx Zoo happens to be the nation’s largest metropolitan wildlife preserve. You don’t have to be an animal person to appreciate the global wonders of the world, so you should check it out.
Recently, the Bronx Zoo’s deadly Egyptian cobra went missing for a solid week. Lucky you, the cobra was caught and is now back in its cage for your convenience and photo-op.
Snake aside, the Bronx Zoo has a lot to offer. The entire zoo has more than 4,000 animals ranging from Siberian tigers to Nile crocodiles. The zoo has numerous naturalistic habitats to keep the animals cozy including a Congo Gorilla Forest and an entire exhibit that resembles Madagascar.
The zoo is open throughout the week and on the weekends usually from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Bronx zoo is fun for the kids, the classy, and the low-key.
