Times Square

For shows, shopping, and must-sees there is always Times Square. Times Square is no secret. Millions of people fit this dazzling district into their itinerary when visiting NYC. In Times Square everything sparkles, the area is a giant collage of famous electronic screens for advertising and neon lights. National and international brands pay the big bucks to land a spot in the Square.

The lights are just as impressive during the day and even gnarly at night. In fact, building owners are actually required to have illuminated signs in Times Square. Vegas may be known for flashing lights, but Times Square is easily becoming a city wonder for spectacular signs as well.

Stunning signs aside, Times Square has numerous attractions. Millions of people wake up at the crack of dawn for the live broadcast of Good Morning American at the ABC Times Square Studios. 42nd Street intersects with Broadway at Times Square and is known for all of its theaters including the Apollo Theater.

Times Square has a lot of theatres for famous Broadway plays including the Minskoff Theatre that features The Lion King and the Gershwin Theatre featuring Wicked. Times Square has the TKTS booth and ruby-red glass steps for discount theater tickets daily.

Shopping is plus-size in Times Square, meaning every store on this lane is enormous. There is something for everyone. For the kids Times Square has a Disney Store and iconic Toy R Us. For tasty treats there is the Hershey’s store or M&M’s World. Mainstream shopping includes stores like Forever XXI, Mac, and Quiksilver. Men will be pleased to know there is a ESPN Zone.

For a bite to eat, Times Square has typical franchises like McDonald’s. For a better experience you can walk along the street to find unique restaurants such as a singing diner for live entertainment.

Times Square is a hot spot during the Thanksgiving Day Macy’s Parade and a global destination for the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop.

Taking Time to visit Times Square is worth your while.
